Sense of Pride

I just finished copying all of last weekend's reception pictures to cd. It is such an accomplishment to have them finished. It was such a fun day and I want the bride and groom to see their family and friends enjoying the day with them.

Before saving the pics to disk, I was going through files trying to fix a memory issue on my computer and found a file of some of my favorite recent pics. I think its good to look back at work you are proud of to help you move forward. Here they are...

Fun, Fun, Valentine's Fun...part 2

As I finish up pictures of the fun Valentine's reception, I'll add them to the post.

Fun, Fun, Valentine's Fun!

I had the opportunity to take pictures at probably the most fun wedding reception ever! The couple, Katie and Ryan, were married in Florida, but wanted to celebrate with family and friends Minnesota-style. They had a large group of family and friends join them at a camp where they served lunch and a build-your-own-cupcake bar, complete with Valentine's candy. The neatest thing was that each place setting offered a chance at a large prize....$1,000 to be exact. That was, of course, if you won the scratch-off lottery ticket. I didn't hear of any big winners. I hope if there were, they would have shared with their hosts. =)

After lunch, guests were invited to go sledding, play some broomball, or cozy by the fire and play some board games. All of this was served with some tasty hot chocolate and warm apple cider, of course!

First Time For Everything

What originally started as a plan to capture my oldest son's life in pictures, has since turned into an incredible hobby. Am I pro? Absolutely not. The only "training" I have is from pouring over blogs, internet sites and books. Do I understand how it all works? Absolutely not. Is it scary? Of course. These are all reasons I want to learn more. Soak up every bit of knowledge I can about light and lenses and people.

What I do know is that I love creating photos that make you stop and appreciate life around you. I love creating photos that tell a story. Let's face it, I just plain love creating!!
